OpenMatch Score you can improve.

Marketplace browse merchandising based on listing quality, network price fairness, and freshness. Placement is not for sale.

No pay-for-rank

OpenMatch does not sell higher placement on OpenDealer marketplace browse results. Improving your score means improving the listing shoppers see: photos, copy, specs, and fair pricing. On your own dealer page, Featured and custom sort order remain your controls for how your lot is presented.

Written policy: when marketplace Recommended is the default, order is driven by OpenMatch and search relevance, not advertising spend.

What we consider

We share the categories so partners know ranking is earned, not bought. Exact weights, bands, and formula details stay proprietary. Subscribed dealers see their own OpenMatch averages and deficits in Lot Health.

Listing quality

Photos, real descriptions, and complete specs. The same completeness ideas you see in Lot Health; richer listings help shoppers and support stronger placement.

Price fairness

How your ask compares to similar vehicles in the OpenDealer network (Great / Good / Fair / Above Market). Sparse markets are not punished for a thin comps set.

Freshness

How long the unit has been listed, with care so strong, fairly priced cars are not buried solely because of age.

How to improve

  1. Add clear photos of the actual vehicle.
  2. Replace placeholder descriptions with real equipment and condition detail.
  3. Fill missing specs your feed omits when possible.
  4. Price competitively versus the OpenDealer network.
  5. Review aging units in Lot Health and Insights.

Distance is not in the score

Shopper ZIP and radius filter or sort inventory at search time. Your OpenMatch Score stays the same for every shopper so Pro guidance stays honest and explainable.

Coming next

Marketplace default sort labeled Recommended (powered by OpenMatch). A future AI Demand Signal may join the score when demand data is dense enough; it is not part of today's public methodology, and we will not publish its weights.

Shopper-facing explanation: opendealer.shop/how-we-rank. OpenMatch is a product name of OpenDealer; we do not claim a registered trademark on this page.
